ollie & fred scarves are crafted in a family-run mill in Elgin, Scotland.
As the last vertical mill in Scotland, they use their 200+ years of experience to carefully craft the raw fibre into beautiful ollie & fred scarves, using over 30 different processes along the way.
The natural fibre is washed in water from the River Lossie to remove leftover oil from the weaving process. The threads are then spun into yarns and woven on looms that are individually set depending on the scarf design.
As a finishing touch, the fringes are twisted and the scarves brushed to ensure a soft and luxurious feel.
